Bill McKibben is a writer, an educator, and an environmentalist who has explored numerous pressing human issues in his work including consumerism, overpopulation, and global warming and their devastating impact on the environment. His book, The End of Nature, published in 1989, was possibly the first book to explain the nature of climate change to the casual reader. Other books include The Age of Missing Information; Hope, Human, and Wild; The End of Nature; Deep Economy; and his most recent, The Global Warming Reader.
