Christian Wiman is an author, editor, and the Clement-Muehl Professor of Communication Arts at Yale Divinity School. He is the author of several books of poetry, including Every Riven Thing, Hammer Is the Prayer, and Survival Is a Style. His memoirs include My Bright Abyss: Meditation of a Modern Believer, and He Held Radical Light: The Art of Faith, the Faith of Art. He has also edited anthologies of 100 poems titled Joy and Home. He has written for the New Yorker, the New York Times Book Review, the Atlantic Monthly, and numerous other publications. From 2003-2013, he was the editor of Poetry Magazine. Wiman is a former Guggenheim Fellow and holds an honorary doctorate of humane letters from North Central College.
