Dr. Craig Santos Perez is a native Chamorro from the Pacific Island of Guam. He has co-edited two anthologies of Pacific literature and authored three books of poetry, most recently from unincorporated territory [guma’] (Omindawn, 2014), which received the American Book Award. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of San Francisco and a Ph.D. in Ethnic Studies from UC Berkeley. He currently works as an associate professor in the English department at the University of Hawaiʻi, Mānoa and as an affiliate faculty with the Center for Pacific Islands Studies and the Indigenous Politics Program.
