Isabella Hammad is the author of The Parisian, which won a 2019 Palestine Book Award and was a New York Times Notable Book of 2019. It will be translated into 15 languages. Hammad received the 2020 Sue Kaufman Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the Betty Trask Award from the Society of Authors. She was also a 2019 National Book Foundation 5 Under 35 honoree. Other awards and honors include the Plimpton Prize for Fiction, an O. Henry Prize, a Gerald Freund Fellowship from MacDowell, and an Axinn Foundation Fellowship from New York University. Hammad was born in London and has lived in the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as elsewhere in Europe and the Middle East. She is currently at work on her second novel.
