Joan Kane

Joan Naviyuk Kane’s books include The Cormorant Hunter’s Wife, Hyperboreal, The Straits, and Milk Black Carbon, for which she has received a Whiting Award, the Donald Hall Prize, an American Book Award, and other honors. She teaches in the graduate creative writing program at the Institute of American Indian Arts and is a judge for the 2017 Griffin Poetry Prize.
