Marilyn B. Young (1937-2017) was a historian of US foreign relations and a professor of history at New York University. She was the author of The Vietnam Wars, 1945-1990, for which she was awarded the Berkshire Women's History Prize, and coeditor of Iraq and the Lessons of Vietnam: Or, How Not to Learn from the Past. Her other honors included a Guggenheim Fellowship and an American Council of Learned Societies Fellowship. In 2011 she was elected President of the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations.
