Mohammed El-Kurd is an internationally touring and award-winning poet, writer, journalist, and organizer from Jerusalem, occupied Palestine. Robin D.G. Kelley describes Mohammed's latest book, Perfect Victims: And the Politics of Appeal (Haymarket, February 2025) , as "a new Discourse on Colonialism for the twenty-first century."
Mohammed co-founded the global #SaveSheikhJarrah campaign, which amplified the 2021 Unity Uprising, galvanizing people from Gaza, Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Palestinian diaspora against the forced displacement of Palestinians from their homes. TIME magazine named Mohammed and his twin sister, Muna El-Kurd, to the 2021 TIME100 list for their organizing and educational work. He is the first Palestine correspondent for U.S. magazine The Nation, where his reporting was long-listed for the 2022 One World Media Print Award. The Arab American Civic Council named him a recipient of the 2022 Truth in Media Award.
The Forward Prizes for Poetry shortlisted Mohammed's debut poetry collection, Rifqa (Haymarket, 2021), for the 2022 Felix Dennis Prize for Best First Collection.
