Sara Baume lives in a village on the south coast of Ireland. Her debut novel, Spill Simmer Falter Wither, was published in Ireland in spring 2015 and will be published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in the US in spring 2016. It was longlisted for the Warwick Prize for Writing, the Edinburgh First Book Award, and the Guardian First Book Award, and is being translated into Dutch, French, Spanish and German. Her short fiction and essays have been published in anthologies and journals. She won the 2014 Davy Byrne’s Short Story Award, the 2015 Hennessy New Irish Writing Award, and the 2015 Rooney Prize for Literature. In Fall 2015, she was a participant in the International Writing Program run by the University of Iowa.
