Yanis Varoufakis is a member of Greece's parliament and leader of the Greek political party MeRA25, which belongs to the pan-European movement DiEM25. He served as Greece's finance minister in 2015. He is the author of a number of books, including And the Weak Suffer What They Must? Europe's Crisis and America's Economic Future and Adults in the Room: My Struggle Against Europe's Deep Establishment. He is chair of the Department of Political Economy and Economic Theory at the University of Athens and has taught at the universities of East Anglia, Cambridge, Sydney, Glasgow, Texas, Torino, Kings College, London, and Sussex.
