Yehuda Amichai (1924-2000) was born in Germany and grew up in Palestine. Mr. Amichai, who wrote in Hebrew, was one of the most distinguished Israeli poets of the twentieth century. Mr. Amichai read from his work at a Lannan sponsored event at Georgetown University on 15 March 1989 and then talked about his work with critic Esther Robbins. This event was videotaped and produced for distribution in the Lannan Literary Video Library. For further information and to read some of Amichai’s poems, click here.
