Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor

Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor was born in Kenya. She is the author of the novels Dust (Vintage Books, 2014), which was shortlisted for the Folio Prize, and The Dragonfly Sea (Knopf, 2019). She received the 2003 Caine Prize for African Writing for her short story, “Weight of Whispers,” described by the BBC as a “subtle and suggestive work of fiction that dramatises the condition of refugees.” A recipient of an Iowa Writers' Fellowship, her work has appeared in McSweeney's and other publications, and she has been a TEDx Nairobi speaker. She lives in Nairobi, Kenya.
