Jean-Luc Mylayne: Photographs

2004

Lannan Foundation recently acquired four works by the photographer Jean-Luc Mylayne. A self-taught photographer, Mylayne’s practice is a very personal one that combines his passions for art and ornithology. His photographs are comprised of common birds such as sparrows, robins, and starlings. It is in his startling compositions that the ordinary becomes extraordinary.

This work was acquired under Lannan’s Acquisition and Gift Program. As new pieces enter the foundation’s holdings, each is earmarked as a promised gift to a museum in the United States.
